Urban farming refers to the practice of growing food in urban areas, such as rooftops, balconies, and vacant lots. It can be done on a small or large scale and can range from growing herbs and vegetables to raising livestock.  Benefits of Urban Farming Fresh, Organic Produce: Urban farming provides access to fresh, organic produce that is grown locally and has a smaller carbon footprint than imported produce.  Community Building: Urban farming brings people together and creates a sense of commun

How to Access/Unblock Youtube Website in Pakistan?

How to Access/Unblock Youtube Website in Pakistan? Due to a blaspheme anti-Islamic video; Youtube was blocked by PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) on 18th of September, 2012. The decision was taken in order to protest against that video and to not access the video in Pakistan. Earlier, Pakistan's government request was denied by Google for removal of that video. Google's statement was that, the company is not yet registered in Pakistan; therefore, Pakistani lows can not be followed by Google. Though, the video was blocked in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Libya where Google is registered and follow the local lows.  And thus, Pakistan's prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf ordered PTA to block the entire youtube website in Pakistan. And the ordered was also made by the Supreme court of Pakistan. From 19th September onwards, Youtube is not accessible in Pakistan. Now to take out the solution for this issue, I am going to share a software with you, whic

On Closest Planet to the Sun, NASA Finds Lots of Ice

On Closest Planet to the Sun, NASA Finds Lots of Ice A composite image of Mercury's north pole. Mercury is as cold as ice Indeed, Mercury, the closest planet to the Sun, possesses a lot of ice — 100 billion to 1 trillion tons — scientists working with NASA’s Messenger spacecraft reported on Thursday. Sean C. Solomon, the principal investigator for Messenger, said there was enough ice there to encase Washington, D.C., in a frozen block two and a half miles deep. That is a counterintuitive discovery for a place that also ranks among the hottest in the solar system. At noon at the equator on Mercury, the temperature can hit 800 degrees Fahrenheit (or about 400 degrees Celsius). But near Mercury’s poles, deep within craters where the Sun never shines, temperatures dip to as cold as minus 370 Fahrenheit (minus-220 Celsius). “In these planetary bodies, there are hidden places, as it were, that can have interesting things going on,” said David J. Lawrence, a senior scien

U.S. Weighs Bolder Effort to Intervene in Syria’s Conflict

U.S. Weighs Bolder Effort to Intervene in Syria’s Conflict      WASHINGTON — The Obama administration, hoping that the conflict in Syria has reached a turning point, is considering deeper intervention to help push President Bashar al-Assad from power, according to government officials involved in the discussions. The most urgent decision, likely to come next week, is whether NATO should deploy surface-to-air missiles in Turkey, ostensibly to protect that country from Syrian missiles that could carry chemical weapons. The State Department spokeswoman, Victoria Nuland, said Wednesday that the Patriot missile system would not be “for use beyond the Turkish border.” But some strategists and administration officials believe that Syrian Air Force pilots might fear how else the missile batteries could be used. If so, they could be intimidated from bombing the northern Syrian border towns where the rebels control considerable territory. A NATO survey team is in Turkey, ex

The Sleeping Beauty of Loulan

The perfectly preserved mummy known as the Sleeping Beauty of Loulan is one of 200 mummies found in the Western Deserts of Xinjiang, in China. Though they eternally sleep, their startling looks are a source of mystery and controversy. These mummies show the diversity of ethnicity in the area, where the Uyghur people of the region still dispute ancient ownership with the ruling Chinese. Death on the Silk Road The Loulan Beauty died on the Silk Road, at a time when it was firmly believed no Caucasians had ever ventured that far. But she is clearly Caucasian, with her high cheekbones, high bridged nose and blonde hair. She died sometime in her 40s, and is still dressed in her red robes, her hair crisply braided in what was probably a very fashionable ’do 3800 years ago. In fact, for 3800 years old, she is remarkably well preserved. She was and is indeed a beauty, tall and stately, with finely carved features. Neither is she alone. She has for company another unearthed mummy ca

10 Common Misconceptions About Britain

If you are British, or know a lot about Britain, you won’t be surprised by the misconceptions below. However, you may be even MORE surprised to learn that in some places these things are believed! If you believe all or any of these points, sorry, but you are mistaken – but fortunately listverse is here to correct things. Here they are, in no particular order: 10 British Nation Misconception:  Britain is a country. While “Britain” or “Great Britain” does refer to the general area, neither of them refers to a country. Britain is a general term for Wales, Scotland and England collectively, while The British Isles also includes Ireland (Northern and the Republic). England is most often incorrectly named in this way, and English people are often referred to as “British”. Northern Ireland is part of the “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” which differentiates between the part of Ireland that is governed by England (hence the suspension of the Northern Irela
